Plantar Fasciitis

Dreading that first step each morning when you get out of bed?

Pain on the bottom of the heel is the classic sign of plantar fasciitis.  It often flares up later in the day after you have been sitting down for a long time, at your desk or in the car.

Medication, an arch support in your shoes, and home stretches may be helpful.  If that doesn't work, there are medical treatments that work.  Prescription medication, a cortisone shot, or some physical therapy may help.

Rarely surgery is required but if the pain lasts too long, that may be the best way to get rid of it.
